Release Checklist: Audio, Cover Art and Credits That Stores Accept
Avoid rejections on Spotify, Apple Music and TikTok. The audio format, cover art rules, songwriter credits and metadata your release needs before you submit it to Infinity Minutes.
Most delays happen because something in a release doesn't meet store rules. Use this checklist before you click submit.
Audio
- WAV or FLAC only, 44.1 kHz, 16 or 24-bit. MP3 and other compressed formats are not accepted.
- Up to 50 MB per track. If a long WAV is too big, export it as FLAC: same quality, about half the size.
- The song should be finished and mastered, with no silence or noise at the start or end.
Cover art
- Square JPG or PNG, at least 3000 × 3000 pixels, under 10 MB.
- It may show only the release title and/or artist name.
- No website addresses, social media handles, phone numbers, QR codes or prices.
- No sexually explicit images, and no logos or brands you don't have written permission to use.
- No blurry, stretched or pixelated images.
Titles and versions
- Write the title the way it should appear in stores, without extra words like "Official Audio".
- Put Remix, Live, Acoustic, Radio Edit and similar in the Version field, not the title.
- Spell your artist name the same way on every release.
Songwriters and credits
- List every songwriter by their full legal name (first and last name, as on their ID), not a stage name. Royalty societies and stores match songwriters by legal name, so a stage name can mean lost royalties.
- Songwriter shares must add up to 100%.
- For Apple Music, every track needs at least one producer or engineer credit.
Rights
- Only submit music you own or control.
- For a cover song, upload the licence from the original publisher.
- If you use samples or beats, make sure you have permission.
Other details
- Explicit content: mark songs with explicit lyrics as Explicit.
- ISRC: leave it empty and we'll assign one free.
- UPC: optional, only if you already have a barcode.
- ℗ and © lines: the year and the owner of the recording and of the release, usually you or your label.
- Release date: give yourself two to three weeks to plan promotion.
After you submit
Your dashboard shows the status: Pending review, In review, Needs changes, Approved, Sent to stores and Live. If we ask for changes, you'll see exactly what to fix. Once a release is live, you can still update its details through a change request, but you can't change the track list or track order.
All set? Upload your song.
Frequently asked questions
What audio format do I need to distribute music?
WAV or FLAC at 44.1 kHz, 16 or 24-bit. MP3 is not accepted. Files can be up to 50 MB; use FLAC for long tracks.
What size should cover art be for Spotify and Apple Music?
A square JPG or PNG of at least 3000 × 3000 pixels, under 10 MB, showing only the release title and/or artist name.
Why must songwriters use legal names?
Royalty societies and stores match songwriters by legal name. A stage name in the songwriter field can mean publishing royalties are never paid to you.
